The whisky was aged for three years in American white oak casks before being aged for one year in a Kijoshu cask from sake brewer Hanahato. Hanato was the first Japanese premium sake producer to succeed in producing a sweeter, top quality sake in the 1970s. A total of only 388 bottles were produced at 61% ABV, and they are now sold out everywhere.
