Just hit somebody with several creatures in combat the same turn you put it out, and Lavacore Elemental could be awesome for you

You need access to five mana to cast Treachery, but if it resolves (and you cast it exclusively with mana produced by lands) you get all that mana right back, making it effectively cost zero

Lead is a narrow effect, and just isn't worth it except if you decide to build your whole deck with the sole purpose of making this card playable, which a Johnny deckbuilder like yours truly will do, but almost no one else will ever bother doing
