"Le March" (The Market) is an inventory artwork in which Dame (Julia Carosin) gathers the visual treasures that make up her artistic vocabulary and the very identity of Mauritius. As if on a tropical market stall, elements unfold on a soothing sage green background: fleshy mangoes with orange reflections, an open papaya revealing its black seeds, a fresh coconut passed from hand to hand. The island's generous
