Silver Mountains (photo print) patina The acid oxidized copper paints

The acid oxidized copper paints that I used for the clouds gives it sleepy quality especially with the full moon peeking through

It was painted using acrylic paints thinned with water to allow the map to  show through

Seagrass originally was done because we were going to Florida to do a month worth of shows

but once we added the metal snow mountains it doubled in sales

Silver Mountains (photo print) patina The acid oxidized copper paintsThe original Silver Mountains was created with a background entirely made with imitation silver leaf. The ground below the mountains was textured first and the sky has the texture of the canvas weave peeking through it. The clouds and the water feature under the mountains were rendered using acid oxidized copper paint to make it patina. I knew when I did the acid over the aluminum leaf it would eat away some of the metal so I painted it the background
