While I was painting it, I sort of decided that whoever they were waving at wasn't actually talking to them, and that they're right in that moment when they've realized they're waving back at a stranger. Cringe. But they're going to be cool about it, I promise. I also decided that despite their glorious camel toe, they are nonbinary. My favourite detail is the way their thighs bulge
