Balfe, Michael William - Autograph Note Signed Programs Music Unsigned Conductors Dated in 1913Irish composer (1808 1870), best known for his opera The Bohemian Girl and other operatic works. Balfe was also a conductor and pursued a career as a singer as well. Autograph note signed, to famous Italian soprano Fanny Persiani (1812 1867) (who created the role of Lucia di Lammermoor in the 1835 world premiere). Balfe is asking her to replace nothing less than Giulia Grisi in a terzetto from his opera Falstaff (Grisi performed at the 1838 world
