Spool width is 1. 6". I took the reel apart and found this reel to be in spectacular condition. Caliper check works perfectly and the pawl and gear teeth still retain their sharpness. No wobble or rub on the spool. Reel foot is 3. 4" long. Reel weighs 24oz but this includes the full size silk line
