I found this old door during my trip to China in 2012 and found the rusty lock and peeled off wall texture very interesting so I decided to paint this piece. The blue, green and brown of this old door complemented each other well and gives off an ancient vibe that is brought out more vibrantly with the use of watercolors. The textures and the rust were really compelling me to paint them as the contrast
