I could find no meaningful sign that the reel has been used at all. No gearing inside so the reel can be wound with either left or right hand, and there is a small pawl that provides a click in both directions to prevent overrun (the resistance on the spool is created by two over sized ball bearings). Machined from titanium and heavily
