Based on stoneware clays with a large amount of refractory grog and crushed trachyte. Beautiful strong plastic body, suitable for hand building and sculpture. Very highly speckled and dark in colour when fired to stoneware. Also usable at E W and Mid Fire temperatures. Texture Coarse. Firing range 1000 1280C in oxidation. Goes dark under reduction. Biscuit 1020C
