HAP40 is a semi stainless high speed powder steel. It is a relatively durable steel with excellent edge retention, and this version has a heat treatment in the ~64 HRC range. This knife will take a very acute edge and hold it for a very long time, but will be slightly more on the brittle side of things due to how thin it is.
