PENINSULAR and her sister ship ORIENTAL were known as the ‘pretty sisters’ although PENINSULAR was generally considered the better of the two ships

This painting is thought to have been one of group of 'historical ship portraits' bought for the Company by Sir Hugh Casson to decorate CANBERRA in 1961

NEVASA (1913) was built for BI's UK/Calcutta service

in 1977 and was later owned by P&O Scottish Ferries
