My absolute favorite part of the sampler is how she spelled her middle name

Elizabeth Hughes 1851 Sampler Thread Pack New Product and heirloom needleworkElizabeth Hughes stitched this lovely Welsh Sampler when she was 14. She was born in 1838 in Flintshire, Wales and at some point was staying in Oxfordshire England, which is where I found the sampler. It is only 3 4 hours from her home. The original antique sampler measures 17. 5 by 16 inches and was stitched in wool on uneven weave canvas and was framed in a stunning hand carved oak leaf frame.
