Griswold used the Erie name prior to adopting its slant logo and subsequent logos. It's special because not only is it a great piece to cook with but there aren't that many of these remaining around. It was the largest size that they made of the Erie series and the script lettering is reminiscent of the artistic series, of which skillets were only made in the size 5 and size 9.
