The heavy door panels feature two small, eye like oval glass viewing windows flanking a traditional central metal door knocker. The carved stone lintel above the casing displays the name "JOHN PENOYER" alongside the construction year "1757" flanked by geometric folk art carvings. Capt. John Penoyer II was a prominent early settler of Sharon, Litchfield County, Connecticut.
