Egyptian New Kingdom Period Palm Wood Carved Lion Figure Sofas 16th centuryOriginates from: Egypt Era: New Kingdom Period (1550 1070 BCE) Dimensions: 9 H x 4 W x 6 D Beautiful and rare palm wood carving, in the form of a lion, from the New Kingdom period of ancient Egypt, between 1550 and 1070 BCE. An incredible, albeit crude depiction of a lion, showing details of hair in the mane, soft details in the face and eyes, an open mouth and tongue and muscular body structure throughout. Loss with missing front limbs over times
