ST LUCIA 1883 SG35 Forgery by Sperati of QV 6d lilac digital-edition h/s 'SPECIMEN' (type D8) and1883 86 6d lilac, wmk CA, the dangerous photo litho forgery by Sperati, "used" with forged "A11" cancel (type 1). Watermark and perforations are genuine, but the stamp impression (and cancel) are forged. Very fine. One of Speratis last forgeries, made in Aug 1953, with the master forger's pencil signature on reverse. Ex Sir Gawaine Baillie (Sotheby's 17 Jan 2007, lot 753, realised 437). P234000377
